Policy & Terms
Children being at the core of our entire endeavour, our policies are aimed at ensuring safety, building healthy habits, facilitating play & fun, and delivering learning and development of children. While we welcome parents to interact with our staff and understand our policies in detail, we present some of the key policy documents below.
Snack & Lunch Policy
Snack & Lunch :We kindly ask that parents provide a snack box and/or lunch from home that your child can eat at meal times during the day. We encourage healthy meals and snacks and provide parents with a snack chart prepared by our dietician after careful research. A snack chart helps in the implementation of a healthy eating pattern.
Examples of healthy snacks include:
- Fruit yoghurts
- Vegetable sticks and dips like hummus (e.g., carrots, cucumber and celery)
- Crackers and cheese / Sandwiches
- Lentils and beans / Pasta salad
- Dried & Fresh Fruits (e.g., Raisins, Apricots, Pears, etc.)
Allergies: We are committed to providing a safe environment for all the children, and we are aware that some children may have food allergies. So, we ask that snacks/lunches sent from home do not include any nuts or nut products. Please make sure that you inform us of any allergies that your child has when you register with us so that we can make arrangements for safety within our setting.
Infection Control Policy
In order to reduce the spread of illness in the nursery, following regulations apply:
Please DO NOT send your child to nursery if:
- The child has a skin rash that has not been assessed by a doctor.
- The child is vomiting or suffering from diarrhea.
- The child has heavy green nasal discharge.
- The child is suffering from sore throat or persistent cough.
- The child has red, watery and painful eyes.
- The child is suffering from any other contagious disease.
- Head Lice.
- The child is having fever.
Note: if your child has fever the night before or in the morning and has received medication like panadol / Adol and the fever subsides (because of the medication), he/she still carries the infection and will spread itto others in the nursery. Hence, he/she is still not fit to attend nursery.
We urge you to respect this policy for the sake of your own child and all the other children in the nursery.
If at the nursery gate, we find your child to be a possible source of infection to other children, you will be politely asked to take the child back.
Birthday Celebrations Policy
Birthdays are such a special time for preschoolers. On your child’s birthday, we will do our best to make the celebration a memorable one. Teachers will provide a birthday table and chair to help make the birthday child feel special.
During birthday celebrations we do allow for a special treat during our regular classroom snack time. However, due to various allergies and dietary restrictions we request you to send an EGGLESS cake with NO NUTS. We won’t be able to cut and serve cakes with eggs or nuts. No juice or crisps etc. are to be shared during the celebrations.
The cake will be cut in class just after snack time. Your child will enjoy the cake cutting ceremony with the teachers and his/her friends. We request parents to not be present for the cake cutting to minimize disruption of class routine.
Our absolutely favourite birthday “treat” is a book for the classroom. You can inscribe it with your child’s name and picture and even wrap it for your child to open during class. We can read the book to the class during group time. This helps us promote a love of books and literacy.
If you are having a birthday party at home and inviting all children in the class, you may bring invitations to school to distribute. If you are only inviting a portion of the class, please distribute the invitations outside the nursery. This saves hurt feelings.
